The Vendor FAQ

You make the goods and put on the shows. The vendor portal makes sure patrons walking the lanes with Event Compass: Realm can find you. Here is what it is, what it costs, and how to claim your place on the map.

The portal, plainly

What is the vendor portal?

A dashboard at portal.eventcompassapp.com for vendors and entertainers at Charted Faires. When we chart a faire we pin every booth from the faire's own published directory, as faithfully as we can chart it from the information the faire makes available, so your shoppe is very likely already on the map. The portal lets you take ownership of that listing: tell your story, add your logo and socials, list your wares so patrons can search for them, and optionally show digital tipping handles.

What does it cost?

Creating an account and claiming your shoppe are free. Your listing is $15 a year per shoppe, for vendors and entertainers alike, and renews each year until you cancel. It publishes everything you add to your card: your story, logo, socials, wares, and tip buttons, at every Charted Faire where you sell. Without an active listing your shoppe stays on the map, but its card shows only what the faire published about it. If a listing ends and is not renewed within 7 days, the card goes back to the faire's version; your details are kept and return the moment you renew. We take no cut of anything you sell; your goods are never sold through the app. Promo placements, described below, are optional and separate.

Launch offer: every shoppe claimed by December 31, 2026 gets its first year free, no card needed.

What do patrons actually see?

When a patron taps your pin on the faire map, a card opens with your name, story, logo, social links, wares, menu, and your verified tip buttons. It works offline, so it is there even where the faire has no signal. Patrons can also find you through Merchant's Row, the app's who-sells-what search: a patron hunting "leather" or "mead" sees every shoppe that carries it, synonyms understood, and can fly the map straight to your booth, and save your shoppe to their pouch as a come-back-for-this list. Patrons find you by the pin, not by a booth number, so a good pin matters; if yours stands in the wrong place, tell us and we will move it.

Which patrons see my shoppe, and what does their pass unlock?

Every patron gets the Herald, the landmark map (stages and anchor points), and the posted stage schedule for free. A season pass unlocks the full map with every booth pinned, yours included, plus directory search and fly-to-booth, stage reminders, the season's schedule archive, the pouch, Merchant's Row, faire-day weather, and a parking note, with no promo banner. So your pin, card, wares, and tip buttons reach pass holders on the full map and reach everyone who searches Merchant's Row; the promo placements described below are the one place free-tier patrons see a vendor by name before they buy a pass. A pass is for a season, and a season a patron has bought stays open to them afterward, so your listing keeps working for them after the faire closes.

How do I claim my shoppe?

Create a free account at the portal, then search your shoppe by name in the Claim card and claim it. Editing is instant from there. If your shoppe is not in the search results, write to support@eventcompassapp.com with the faire and your booth, and we will add you.

I perform rather than sell. Is this for me too?

Yes, and performers have their own page: the Entertainer FAQ covers how your shows connect to your profile, how fans follow you from weekend to weekend, and how your tip buttons and card ride along with every show.

Tips, promos, and trust

How does digital tipping work?

You may list Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Zelle handles, all optional. Patrons see them on your card and their tip app opens directly; the money moves through those services, never through us, and we take nothing. One safeguard: tip handles stay locked until we verify the shoppe is really yours, because shop names are public and money should not move on a name alone. Verifying takes a minute in the portal's Digital Tipping section: we give you a short code, you place it on your shoppe's website or social page, and we check it. Tips can unlock on the spot; otherwise our team confirms it, usually within a day or two. No website or social page? Email support@eventcompassapp.com with the subject "Digital Tipping Verification" and attach a picture of your photo ID instead (you are free to cross out anything but your name and your photo). Once verified, the tip handles you enter are published to patrons.

What are the promo placements?

One optional, plainly formatted subscription you can book yourself in the portal. It puts your shoppe on every promo surface at once: a small promo banner at the top of the screen shown to free-tier patrons, the rotation spot at the top of Merchant's Row, and The Bazaar when it opens. Choose up to four of the faires you are booked at, or every faire you are booked at, now and as you add bookings; ads run only where you hold a booth. It renews on the schedule you pick until you cancel, and a cancelled subscription runs out the time already paid. Only real faire vendors can book it; there are no third-party ads in the app. It is a bullhorn, not a requirement; your yearly listing is all a shoppe needs.

I sell at several faires. Do I need several profiles?

No. One profile can serve your booths at every Charted Faire you attend. If you find duplicate listings of your shoppe at different faires, write to support@eventcompassapp.com and we will merge them so every faire shows the one profile you maintain.

When do my edits reach patrons?

The app is offline-first: patrons' phones fetch fresh faire data whenever they have a connection, then run from the local copy all day. Your edits publish immediately on our side and reach each patron the next time their phone checks in, so polish your profile before the weekend rather than mid-Saturday.

My faire is not in the app yet. Can it be?

We chart faires every season, steered by patron votes and by requests from vendors like you. Write to support@eventcompassapp.com and tell us where you sell; vendor requests genuinely count toward what we chart next.
